Henna Mehndi

Lasts:        1 - 2 weeks                                          Small designs:     15 - 20 per hour
Colours:   reddish-brown only                     Larger designs:   6 per hour

Many styles from a simple, modern butterfly to an intricate, East Indian full-hand design are available.  Henna works well on hands, feet, wrists and/or ankles only.  It is perfect for corporate events and private adult events including stagettes, weddings, anniversaries and the ever-popular Ladies' Henna Parties.

Henna powder is made from the dried leaves of the henna plant.  The powder is mixed with natural ingredients to create a paste which is applied to the skin via a cone or bottle.  When the paste is removed (2 hours minimum on skin) the design will last up to 2 weeks depending on how quickly your skin regenerates itself.

Most henna designs take approximately 5 minutes each while intricate full-hand designs can take 45 minutes.

Important: Black Henna

Our henna paste contains only natural ingredients, so it is completely safe.  Never use "black" or "coloured" henna, which has a hair dye chemical added to provide the colour.  The dye may cause various negative reaction, the worst being permanent scarring.  Natural henna, which is a green paste and gives a rusty-brown stain, will not cause negative reactions or scarring.  In the pics above, it may look like the henna paste is black, but it is actually dark green. Henna History

"Mehndi" is the Sanskrit (language of India) word for the art of applying henna.  Traditionally, henna is donned by East Indian brides.   It usually involves elaborate, ornate designs on the hands and feet.  Many of the animals and pictures symbolize luck, love, faithfulness or loyalty.
